SERVPRO of Spartanburg County specializes in water damage and restoration. Whether it is your home or your business, dealing with water damage can be stressful. Call SERVPRO then contact your insurance company. We will dispatch skilled technicians to your location and start the restoration process and document everything for your insurer. To reduce some of the stress of the trying situation, here are some suggestions for reducing additional damage while you wait for us to arrive:
- If the water source is not weather-related, shut off the water source to your property. This reduces the volume of water to be removed.
- Go ahead and remove excess water by mopping, blotting, or squeegee to prevent the water from spreading further.
- Place aluminum foil or wood blocks under furniture legs, this will help save your furniture from further damage as well as prevent stains on the flooring.
- Remove colored rugs from wet carpet so that the dyes do not bleed into each other, leaving stains.
- Remove books, magazines, and colored items from carpets. This too will prevent dyes from spreading to other textiles.
Upon our arrival, we will handle everything else, whether if it is just drying, drying and cleaning, or a more extensive restoration project.
